Kerala aims two lakh IT jobs in 5 years

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22 (UNI) Stating that Kerala would be an Information Technology hub, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the state aimed at creating about two lakh jobs in the IT sector in the next five years.

The development of IT in the state would be different from that of Bangalore and Hyderabad. In Kerala, the development would be decentralised and every district would have IT parks, he said while inaugurating the IBS campus here.

''The Smart City at Kochi has become a reality. A technocity is being developed in Thiruvananthapuram,'' Mr Achuthanandan said, adding that steps have been taken for developing satellite IT parks in all the districts.

Welcoming all the IT majors to the state, he said there were certain allegations that Kerala was against development.

''It is now agreed that Kerala is the best place for IT and as a result, many IT majors have come to the state,'' he said.
