Bangalore, Oct 22 (UNI) Independent MLA Mr Jaiprakash Hegde today favoured the formation of a JD(S)-Congress coalition government again in Karnataka to avoid mid-term polls in the state.

Speaking to newspersons here he claimed that the legislators of both the parties were against mid-term polls.

He said he had already met the legislators to gather their opinion against the President's rule as no work could be taken up during the period.

''They were hesitant to express their views openly,'' he claimed.

He said he along with S Rajendran (RPI) MLA, would take the initiative to bring together the legislators of both the parties in a meeting to be held in the next few days. The coalition set up had come to stay and the scenario would continue even if fresh elections were held, Mr Hegde said.

Mr Rajendran was also present at the press conference.
