Huge cache of arms unearthed in AP

Mahaboobnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 22 (UNI) A huge cache of arms, including an AK 47 rifle, ammunition, explosives, logistics aids and cash, belonging to the CPI (Maoists), were unearthed at four places in Nallamala reserve forests in this district today.

Police said 24 weapons, including an AK 47 rifle, ten 303 rifles, four SBBL guns and Tapanchas and two DBBL guns, were recovered. As many as 789 rounds of ammunition, including 50 rounds for AK 47 rifle and 369 rounds for 303 rifles, were also seized.

According to a release here, 280 gelatin sticks, 35 detonators, Rs 13 lakh in cash and 500 books of revolutionary literature were also unearthed in the forests, falling under Amrabad, Lingal and Kollapur police limits.

Meanwhile, two Local Guerilla Squad (LGS) members of the Maoist party surrendered before Hyderabad range Inspector General of Police AR Anuratha. The Maoists were identified as Anjaneyulu and Vishnu.
