Govt Medical College suspends 8 students in Surat

Surat, Oct 22 (UNI) The Government Medical College authorities have suspended eight second-year students and rusticated several others after they were found guilty of ragging first-year students on the hostel premises.

The Government Medical College Dean Dr Vajpai said a function was held in the hostel on the occasion of Navratri on October 19, when a few senior students had a fight with the junior students, who complained about it with the hostel warden the other day. He said all the culprits have been rusticated from the hostel and suspended from the college for one month. Eight second-year students have also been suspended.

However, the College authorities have not lodged any police complaint about the incident.
