Few Sanjay fans wait outside Tada court

Mumbai, Oct 22 (UNI) The 'usual crowd' that thronged the area around the TADA court premises in the Arthur Road jail to have a glimpse of 'Munnabhai' was missing today.

Only a small number of fans waited outside the TADA court as Sanjay Dutt was handed over the judgement copy of the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Designated TADA Court judge Parmod Kode handed the copy to the actor, who was convicted under Arms Act and sentenced to six-year imprisonment.

Dutt arrived at the court at 1100 hrs with worry writ large on his face. He was escorted by his counsel Satish Maneshinde to the courtroom.

The actor, along with his former secretary-turned-producer Pankaj Kharbanda, producer Bunty Walia and others, left for the ITC Hotel at Parel as he was informed by court authorities to appear in the post-lunch session.

At the hotel, he was joined by his girlfriend Mannyata and other family friends. However, Dutt is said to have ordered only sandwiches for himself and also apparently did not talk much during the lunch.

He, however, hugged all his friends, including Manyata, before departing for the Arthur Road jail, where he was lodged till 2030 hrs before being taken to Pune in a police van.
