Farm commodity prices show mixed trend over a year period

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) Retail prices of essential commodities remained stable or showed mixed trend over a year period ending October 18, 2007.

Price of rice remained stable at Rs 15 per kg between October 18, 2007 and on the same day last year. The wholesale prices of rice were also stable during the period.

Price of wheat ruled at Rs 12 per kg as on the date. One year ago it was Rs 11 per kg.

Price of gram dal showed a declining trend from Rs 44 per kg a year ago to Rs 34 per kg as on date.

Price of tur has been in the increasing trend from Rs. 35 a year ago to Rs 40 as on the date. Prices of groundnut oil and mustard oil have shown increasing trend during the period. Retail price of groundnut oil increased to Rs 119 per kg from Rs 90 per kg and price of mustard oil rose to Rs 62 per kg from Rs 53 per kg.

Potato prices were ruled at Rs 15 per kg on October 17, 2007. One year ago the price was Rs 12 per kg.

Price of onion moved up to a peak at Rs. 27 per kg on October 1, 2007 and then started decreasing. The price on October 18 was Rs 22 per kg, whereas the price one year ago was Rs. 10.50 per kg.

The price movement was monitored by the Department of Consumer Affairs for the period.
