Cinema halls and Multiplexes to install CCTV

Bangalore, Oct 22 (UNI) In the wake of terror attack on a cinema hall in Ludhiana, the Karnataka police have asked cinema halls and multiplexes owners in the State to install Closed Circuit TV cameras and metal detectors as a precautionary measure.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) K V Sharat Chandra, in a meeting with Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), asked the Chamber to issue necessary directions to all the theater owners to take necessary steps within a month to install CCTV and metal detectors at the entrance and parking areas.

The theatre and mall owners have also been asked to keep an eye on suspicious-looking persons and trouble makers and check all the baggages of the audience, he added.

Mr Chandra advised the people visiting the halls to check the seats before sitting and inform the concerned authorities if they come across any unclaimed luggage or doubtful materials.
