CII Quality Summit to focus on organisational excellence

Bangalore, Oct 22 (UNI) Top business leaders from manufacturing, services sector and NGOs in India and abroad will attend the 15th 'CII Quality Summit' to be held in the city on November 1 and 2.

'People to Profit: Driving Performance through Organisational Excellence' was the theme of this year's Summit.

Briefing news persons on the Summit Mr K N Shenoy, Chairman of city-based CII Institute of Quality and Vice Chairman of Volvo India, said the Summit would showcase best-in-class quality practices on how companies need to position themselves to meet continuous waves of change and emerging issues in the areas of organisational excellence encompassing productivity, people, processes, customer loyalty and Social equity.

CII would also announce the results of the CII-EXIM Bank award for business excellence for 2007. The awards would be in recognition of outstanding performance by companies and promote the awareness of excellence in processes, practices and performance, he added.

Over 750 professionals including leaders like CEOs and CFOs of leading businesses would be taking part in the two-day meet and deliberate the latest national and international developments, he said.

Mr Shenoy said during the last five years economic growth had transformed the face of India and the Indian industry. More and more foreign companies were entering the market while Indian industries were venturing out like never before to establish their global presence to service international markets and customers.

Mr K V Kamath, MD and CEO of ICICI Bank would deliver special key-note address, while Prof C K Prahlad would give away the concluding day address on 'Future at the Bottom of the Peramid'.

The other top business leaders and personalities who would be giving away talks include Dr Noriaki Kano, Chairperson of Asian Network for Quality, Mr Stephen Dorgan of McKinsey and Co, UK, Mr Kuldip Karuna, MD and CEO Sterlite Industries, Mr N R K Raman, CEO, Iflex Solutions and Mr Biplab Majumder, MD, ABB Ltd.
