21-year-old girl student run over by truck

Moga, Oct 22 (UNI) A 21-year-old girl student was today run over by a speeding truck in front of her college in Gaggara, 7 Km from here.

According to police, Monika Sharma, a first year student of Baba Ishar Singh Parmacy college in the district and resident of Devras (Shimla) was crossing the road in front of her college along with her brother, who is also a student of the same college, when a speeding truck crushed her. She died on the spot while her brother managed to cross the road.

On the statement of her brother police registered a case against the truck driver on alleged charge of rash and negligent driving.

After postmortem the body of the girl was handed over to her relatives who arrived here today.
