Three arrested for storing crackers illegally

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) In a drive to check illegal storage of crackers on the eve of Diwali festival, the Delhi Police have seized 3469 kg of crackers in course of raids carrietout at different places and arrested three people in this connection.

A raid at a shop in Kirti Nagar in West Delhi by a team of anti-kidnapping section led to recovery of 477 kg of illegally stored crackers and arrested shop owner Inderveer Jain.

In other raids, 1485 kg of illegal crackers were recovered from a premises in Budh Vihar while another 1507 kg of illegal crackers were seized from Rohini sector 8. Two people, Sanjay Kumar and Hari Gupta, were arrested.

All arrested persons have been booked under section 286 of the IPC and section 9B of the Explosive Substances Act, police said.
