Police observes Commemoration day

Una, Oct 21: The Police Commemoration day was observed by the Una police at Jhalera police line grounds here today where Inspector General of Police (CID) BNS Negi presided over the ceremony.

A posse of policemen presented a general salute and reversed their arms in respect of their uniformed colleagues who laid down their lives while maintaining law and order.

After reading out the name of the martyrs, Mr Negi laid a wreath on the memorial. Other distinguished guests who laid wreaths, included CB Pandey, Director of the Una Swan River Project, Una SP Atul Fulzele and Commandant First India Reserve Batallion Bangarh Santosh Patial.

On the occasion, the Una police honoured a team of five policemen who arrested on the run criminals Amrish Rana and Gurject Singh.

The team included Sub Inspector Shakti Chand Pathania, ASI Subhash Shastri besides Head Constables Ranjeet Singh, Sanjog and Karanjeet.

Other policemen of the district, awarded for meritorious service included Haroli SHO Shiv Pal, ASI Vishwas of CIA Staff Una, ASI Yog Raj, ASI Om Parkash Bhardwaj, Head Constables Rajesh Kumar, Moti Lal, Jagpal, Kusum Lata and Dildar Singh.

The Una police also honoured a few civilians and elected members of panchayats who rendered their support in nabbing criminals and in maintaining law and order.

UNI
