Pakistani militant, policeman among 3 killed in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) A Pakistani militant and a policeman were among three people killed while ultras attacked a police party in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, an official spokesman said today.

He said a Pakistani militant, Abdullah Bhai, of the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and a police personnel were killed in an encounter at Malpora in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district last night.

One AK rifle, three magazines, six hand grenades and one UBGL were seized from the possession of the slain militant.

The spokesman said police recovered the body of Muzaffar Ahmad Lone, 35, a resident of Chiti in Bandipora district, from Baghe Mehtab here under suspicious circumstances.

Militants fired upon a police party at Kandiwara in Anantnag district of south Kashmir late last night. The fire was retaliated, but no damage was caused, he added.

The ultras managed to escape.

Security forces seized one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), two UBGL grenades and 85 rounds from Bhaigali Nallah in Manjakote area of Rajouri district in Jammu region during a search operation last evening, he said.
