Indo-German trucks roll out of MP factory
Indore, Oct 21 (UNI) Union Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today flagged off the first batch of trucks and light commercial vehicles manufactured by a joint undertaking -- of Force Motors Ltd and Germany's MNAG -- at nearby Pithampur Industrial Area.
The batch left for South Africa. Force Motors Chairman Abhay Firodia and MNAG officials were among those present. The Minister met delegations from both countries. The factory, set up recently, has the capacity to roll out 24,000 trucks annually. The Force-MNAG deal was inked in 2003.
''Besides attempts to reduce production cost, modern technology is being increasingly applied. We have 17 distributors in India and that figure will go up to 31 next year,'' said Mr Firodia.
