Etzinger lifts $ 15,000 Bellary Open ITF Futures Championship title

Bellary, Karnataka, Oct 21 (UNI) Third seed Rainer Etzinger of Austria lifted the USD 15,000 Bellary Open ITF Futures Championship title defeating fourth seed Ivan Cerovic 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the finals played here today.

The winner pocketed USD 1950 besides earning 24 points, while Ivan won USD 1350.

Yesterday, the match was abandoned, after first game in which Etzinger was leading 6-3, due to rain.

After day's rest Ivan, regaining his strength took early lead defeating Etzinger in the second set 6-3. However, the Austrian bounced back and after successful break in the fourth game won the decider with identical score (6-3).

The players have now moved to Gulbarga where the main draw of the USD 15,000 Gulbarga Open ITF Futures Championship begins from tomorrow.
