Deputy Mayor S S Bajwa passes away
New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) Deputy Mayor S S Bajwa, who was yesterday admitted to the Apollo hospital in a critical condition after he fell down from the terrace of his house in East Delhi, died this morning, family sources said.
He was 52 and is survived by his wife and two sons.
Mr Bajwa, who fell from the first floor of his house in Savita Vihar when the sudden appearance of a few monkeys there resulted in him backing off, died after suffering a heart attack this morning, the sources said.
Mr Bajwa was yesterday admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Apollo hospital with serious head and other injuries. Those close to him had said he was suffering from multiple organ failure.
''He was diagnosed with multiple organ failure and was on a ventilator. The end came at around 1000 hours this morning,''his personal secretary Pawan Bhaskar said.
Several BJP leaders visited Apollo hospital to enquire after the well being of Mr Bajwa.
Among those who paid a visit to the hospital were senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly Jagdish Mukhi, BJP leader Vijay Goel, Mayor Aarti Mehra, Leader of the MCD House Subhash Arya, Chairman of the Standing Committee Vijender Gupta, Leader of the Opposition in the MCD House Jaikishen Sharma and other BJP MLAs and councillors.
