Amity United beat ONGC in qualifying round

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) Scoring once in each half, Amity United downed ONGC 2-1 in a rough encounter in the qualifying round of the 120th Osian's-Durand football Cup here today.

The match witnessed some aggressive play and rough tackling prompting the referee to show seven yellow cards, with three cards being shown in the first half half.

Amity United surged ahead in the 32nd minute through striker Praveen to go into the second session leading 1-0.

However after 19 minutes in the second half, Jatin Singh Bisht drew equaliser for the ONGC with a superb goal.

The winning goal of the match came almost towards the end of the regulation time. The decider was scored when Samuel of Amity United netted the ball in the 89th minute of the match.
