8 killed, 47 injured in accident

Lucknow, Oct 21 (UNI) At least eight people were killed and 47 others injured in two separate incidents in Ferozabad and Jaluan districts of Uttar Pradesh.

A tractor-trolley and a truck collided in Tundla area of Ferozabad late last night, killing five persons on the spot and injuring 37 others.

According to police, some villagers were returning from a Dussehra mela on a tractor-trolley, when a speeding truck hit their vehicle on Ferozabad-Tundla highway.

Five of injurd people had been admitted to Agra Medical College.

The truck driver was arrested and a case registered.

Similarly in another accident at Orai in Jalaun district, three people died and 10 others were injured when a tractor-truck overturned late last night.

Two of the injured were said to be critical.
