Youth misbehaves behind Durga pandal

Raipur, Oct 20 (UNI) A station house officer (SHO) was among five police personnel who have been line-attached for allegedly misbehaving after a demand for action against a youth who indulged in indecent behaviour during a cultural programme at a Goddess Durga pandal at this district's Kharora.

The youth misbehaved at about 0400 hrs yesterday behind the pandal where the programme was organised by the Taxi Union Durgotsav Samiti. Villagers caught the youth and handed him over to the police but as the latter took no action, people reached Kharora Police Station, demanded that the youth be arrested and a case registered.

SHO B S Rathore and the other personnel misbehaved with the villagers who observed a Kharora bandh yesterday and blocked a road.

They were pacified by the administration.

''The youth has been arrested and a case registered,'' said Additional Superintendent of Police B P Rajbhanu.
