CP Shootout case : Ballistic expert gets bail

New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) A city court today granted bail to Roop Singh, the ballistic expert accused of giving false evidence in the 1997 Connaught Place shootout case.

Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar directed Singh to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and asked him to adduce evidence in his defence by October 24.

The Judge had convicted 10 policemen, including trigger-happy ACP S S Rathi and Inspector Anil Kumar, in the case on October 16, finding them guilty on counts of murder, attempt to murder, false evidence and criminal conspiracy under Indian Penal Code.
