Bomb blast kills seven, injures five in Pakistan

Islamabad, Oct 20 (UNI) Seven people were killed and five injured seriously in a bomb blast at Pakistan Chowk in the southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan where militants have been fighting for autonomy for decades.

DPO Dera Bugti said the bomb was planted in a passenger wagon travelling to Sui from Dera Bugti.

Four people including two women and a child were killed on the spot while three others succumbed to injuries in hospital, Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Five people admitted to the civil hospital were stated to be in critical condition.

The bomb was detonated by remote control, sources said.

Security forces cordoned off the area immediately after the incident.

Baluch rebels have waged a low-key insurgency for years for autonomy and a larger share of the profits from resources in Pakistan's biggest province.

They frequently attack gas pipelines, electricity infrastructure and transport links in the area.
