10 suicide bombers ready to strike Islamabad, Rawalpindi

Lahore, Oct 20: Ten suicide bombers are all set to target the twin cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and other cities of Pakistan, a media report has claimed. According to a letter written by Punjab Home Secretary Brigadier Muhammad Ejaz and Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Nasim Ahmad to district police officials, ten suicide bombers from Sargodha, Faisalabad and Chakwal have been trained in Darra Adam Khel, Geo TV reported.

The confidential letter sent to police officials says that Islamabad and Rawalpindi are on the terrorists" hit list, the Daily Times reported.

Police officials from these cities have been directed to find the whereabouts of these suicide bombers, it added.

The development comes close on the heels of an assassination bid on former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in which over 140 people, including 20 police personnel were killed and several others were injured.
