Tension after seer insulted in MP

Katni, MP, Oct 19 (UNI) Thousands of slogan-shouting Sindhis took to the streets in protest against alleged misbehaviour meted out to their seer in this district headquarters today.

Shops were also shut down in Sindhi-dominated Madhav Nagar and Golbazaar areas, police said.

When Sant Ishwar Shah went for taking part in a bhoomi pujan ceremony this morning, three persons misbehaved with him. One of the accused was arrested.

The agitating Sindhis demanded arrest of the other accused and strict action against the trio.
