Kerala, Chattisgarh in semi-finals

Chandigarh, Oct 19 (UNI) Kerala will clash with Chattisgarh in the women's semi-final tomorrow in the 9th Senior Women and 5th Sub-Junior Girls National Cycle Polo Championships, being conducted by the Chandigarh Cycle Polo Association at The Banyan Tree School here.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh snuffed out a tough challenge of Maharashtra by 8-5 to become the third team to qualify for the semi-final. They have to wait for the outcome of the quarter-final match to be plyed tomorrow between Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Srisha gave an outstanding performance as she pumped in five goals for Andhra Pradesh. She also scored hat-trick. Maharasthra's Pratiksha (4) also performed a three-in-a-row feat but that was not enough to avert defeat.

Kerala and Chattisgarh scored win in contrasting styles in quarter-finals. Kerala trounced Vidarbha by 19-0. Kavya Lakshmi (5) and Sonia Joseph (4) were the main scorers for the winners.

Chattisgarh outplayed hosts Chandigarh by 17-0. Sudipti (4), Sonali (3), Poonam (3) and Monika (3) served the winners well.

Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Kerala and Chattisgarh moved into the sub-junior girls semi-finals by emerging leaders in their respective pools.

Kerala will face Chattisgarh and Vidarbha will challenge Rajasthan in the semi-final matches.
