Vijayawada, Oct 19 (UNI) A devotee in Prakasam district today presented a 'silver throne' to goddess Kanakadurga atop Indrakeeladri hill here today.
The silver throne was received by temple Executive Officer S Chandrasekhar Azad from the devotee Panindra Reddy, presented on the occasion of the nine-day Navarathri festival.
The 'throne' was prepared in Tenali and 47 kilos of silver was used for its preparation.
The throne costs worth Rs 12 lakh and was prepared in three months, a temple official told UNI.
The official said 516 sarees were distributed to equal number of Muthaiduvulu(Mistress) on the occasion of Durgashtami.
Meanwhile, about one lakh devotees worshipped goddess Durga on the eighth-day of the festival, adorned as 'Durga Devi'.
