Lucknow, Oct 19 (UNI) In a major policy step to instil a sense of security among all, Uttar Pradesh government has decided to make compulsory the establishment of fire stations, police stations and outposts in all the projects to be developed by development authoritries, industrial authorities, UP housing board and UP state industrial development corporation (UPSIDC).

The government also decided to hand over buildings for these to home department free of cost.

The decision was taken at the meeting of State cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mayawati here today.

It has also been decided at the cabinet that the expenditure for the new staff and other logistics would be borne by the state home department, an official spokesman said.

He said at the time when the housing and industrial activities were becoming hectic, the issue of law and order and other security provisions had also become important.

''From now onwards, all the development projects involving housing and industrial projects, the fire stations and police establishments would be a must and their cost would be included in the total project cost,'' the spokesman said.
