Anbazhagan urges admn to provide 15 kg free rice to ration shops

Puducherry, Oct 19 (UNI) AIADMK State Secretary A Anbazhagan MLA today urged the territorial administration to provide 15 kilograms of free rice to all ration card holders in Puducherry in view of Deepavali.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr Anbazhagan also demanded for the provision of two kgs of palmoline oil and sugar free of cost.

Stating that all the textile mills under the control of the Government were running in loss, Mr Anbazhagan said that taking this into consideration, the Government should ensure uniform bonus to all the mill workers. Last year more bonus was given to the workers of AFT mills than the workers of the Swadesh and Bharathi mills, he pointed out.

He also urged the Chief Minister to enhance the bonus to the cooperative institutions by five per cent this year, considering the price rise, and the bonus be disbursed ten days before Deepavali.
