Terror-related fund tops US aid to Pak

Washington, Oct 18: The United States has extended 10.09 billion dollars to Pakistan between 2001 and 2007 with terror and security related funds taking the top slot.

The highest single year figure that was remitted in 2007 was 1.77 billion dollars, the Daily Times reported.

The projected figure for 2008 is 840 million dollars only.

According to figures tabulated by the Congressional Research Service, total economic support funds were of 1.89 billion dollars, other development aid were of 453 million dollars, foreign military financing stands at1.27 billion dollars, other security-related aid were of 377 million dollars, coalition support funds 5.93 billion were of dollars, total non-food aid plus coalition support funds were of 9.9 billion dollars and food aid was 177 million dollars, the daily reported.
