Mughal-e-Azam, other Indian films take centre stage at UAE fest

Dubai, Oct 16 (UNI) An impressive array of Bollywood films have made their mark at the ongoing five-day inaugural Middle East international Film Festival (MEIFF) at Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital.

The Last Lear (2007), featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Arjun Rampal and the all-time classic, ''Mughal-E-Azam''(1960), reminiscent of the groions days of Indian cinema are being screened under the ''Bollywood Spotlight,'' section.

Awaara (1951) and a documentary ''Kehta Hai Joker'' (2007) are being shown at the premier event, being held from October 14 to October 19, as a tribute to the late legendary showman of Indian cinema, Raj Kapoor.

The festival will feature more than 50 international films from different parts of the world. A collection of high-profile films would also make their international and regional premiere.

Bipasha Basu will be the emcee at the closing night Awards gala to which Bollywood stars like Irfan Khan, Shiney Ahuja and Konkana Sen have also been invited.
