29 MBBS students suspended

Indore, Oct 16 (UNI) As many as 29 first year MBBS students of the local Mahatma Gandhi Medical College were suspended for an indefinite period for allegedly assaulting their classmates, the college authorities said today.

The parents of the suspended day-scholars had been sent letters asking them to meet the college authorities to convey them the 'indisciplinary act' of their wards towards hostellers, College Dean Dr M K Saraswat said.

The first year MBBS students clashed on October 9 and a compromise was reached among them with the intervention of a few professors. The day-scholars again reportedly assaulted the hostellers on October 11.

The students were suspended on the recommendation of the college discipline committee, which probed the complaint of the victims, Dr Sarawat said.
