Kewara flower cultivation

Bhubaneswar, Oct 15 2007: Cultivation of the 'Kewara' flower and extraction of its essence is earning huge turnovers for locals in eastern Orissa. Kewara cultivation is one of the most coveted businesses in the state today and is mainly cultivated on the coastal belt of Ganjam district due to suitable climatic conditions.

It registers a business of Rs 400 million annually and nearly 15,000 families are dependent upon the cultivation of Kewara for their livelihood.
