Prisoner dies in hospital

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 15 (UNI) A 62-year-old prisoner died following an illness at the Government Headquarters Hospital here today.

Police said, the prisoner Savarimuthu of Vadugarppettai village, near here, was jailed recently, after a lower court awarded him two years imprisonment in a bribery case when he was working at the Revenue Divisional Office at Ariyalur in 1993.

The deceased complained of some breathing problem yesterday and was admitted to the hospital.
