Police recover nine can bomb

Jamshedpur, Oct 15 (UNI) The East Singhbhum district police have foiled the plan of major explosion by the suspected Maoists when they defused nine can bomb in between Burudih and Basadera in naxalite-dominated Ghashila police station area.

Police today said all the explosives were planted by the suspected ultras at around 50 feet distance along side the road.

A police team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Anand Joshep Tigga, acting on a tip off rushed to the area yesterday and recovered all the can bomb.

Mr Tigga said police launched a massive combing operation in the area to flush out the Maoist rebels following the spurt in naxalite activities in bordering areas of West Bengal and Orissa in recent time.
