HC issues notice to Punjab on Virks bail plea

Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for October 30 to the Punjab Government on the bail plea of former state DGP S S Virk.

Virk was arrested on September 9 from Maharshtra Sadan, New Delhi, under the Prevention of Corruption Act for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of incom.

Hearing the bail plea, Justice H S Bhalla also issued notice to Director PGI here to submit a report on Virk's health and the treatment being given to him since his hospitalisation soon after the arrest.
