BPO executive named new Miss Tibet

Dharamsala, Oct 15 (UNI) Ms Tenzing Dolma, a 21-year-old BPO executive and a part-time Delhi model has been crowned Miss Tibet 2007 at a glittering ceremony late last evening.

While Ms Dolma was crowned Miss Tibet, Karnataka's Tsering Yanjom was named the first runner up and Sikkim's Diki Dolma second runner up at a function held at Macleodganj, near here, late last evening.

In all, five constants participated in this year's three-day pageant, which has traditionally not received support from the Tibet Government-in-exile, which believed it was ''too vulgar''.

Ms Dolma was awarded a cash prize of Rs one lakh, while second and third runner up bagged cash prizes of Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively.

The winners were selected after seven rounds of competition and the on the basis of votes polled by each contestant.

The ceremony rounded off with this year's Free Spriti Award being handed over to Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) for their work for Tibetan cause.
