New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) A delegation of Afro-Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO) led by its Secretary General Abdalla Yahia Adam called on the Minister of State for Agriculture Kanti Lal Bhuria here today and held discussions to explore the possibilities for resumption of collaborative arrangements with the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

Mr Bhuria expressed India's willingness to accept the offer extended by the AARDO for organising training courses on water management, post-harvest technology and farm implements and tools.

He further stated that once the collaboration agreement is finalised IARI could work out the details of the training programme in consultation with the AARDO.

IARI had organised training programmes on 'farm implements and tools' for AARDO during 1986-92 although the Department of Agricultural Research and Education and ICAR do not have any such institutional arrangement with AARDO.
