5 killed, 40 hurt in train accident in Chittagong

least
five
people
were
killed
and
more
than
40
injured
when
a
Dhaka
bound
passenger
train
derailed
at
Mirerswari
in
Bangladesh's
southeastern
city
of
Chittagong
today.
Police and railway sources said the accident occurred at about 0820 hrs when five coaches of Pravati Express' derailed at Botdia in Mirerswari subdistrict. Four passengers died on the spot and another at Chittagong medical college hospital.
The injured passengers, some of them reported critical, were rushed to Mastannagar health complex in Mirerswari and Chittagong medical College hospital. Two relief trains were sent for rescue operation, officials said.
