BJP blames Central Government for Ajmer blast
Lucknow/Siliguri
(West
Bengal).
Oct
13:
Bharatiya
Janata
Party
(BJP)
President
Rajnath
Singh
has
criticised
the
Central
Government
for
not
doing
enough
to
prevent
terrorist-related
events
like
the
Ajmer
blast.
"The
Home
Minister
is
busy
playing
the
role
of
an
astrologer.
Again,
he
comes
up
with
warnings
saying,
religious
places,
VIP's
and
other
sensitive
areas
of
the
country
are
under
threat
from
terrorists.
I
think
this
government
has
never
taken
terrorism
as
a
major
challenge," Singh
said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in Siliguri following the Ajmer attack.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has deployed bomb detection squads at all entry and exit points of the main railway station.
Officials said they also planned to introduce explosive vapour detectors.
"We will be using these instruments in preventing terrorist activities in North Bengal, especially in the railways. We have alerted all government railway police personnel," said Mahender Singh Poonia, Superintendent of Police, Railways.
Thursday"s bomb explosion inside the famous Ajmer Sharif shrine claimed two lives and injured 17 others.
The blast occurred at around 6.15 p.m. just before the end of the Ramadan fasting month.
