Gore, UN climate panel win Nobel Peace Prize

OSLO, Oct 12 (Reuters) Former US Vice President Al Gore and the UN climate panel won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize today for raising awareness of the risks of climate change.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee chose Gore and the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to share the 1.5 million dollars prize from a field of 181 candidates.
