Prohibitory order imposed in Shillong

Shillong, Oct 11: Prohibitory orders have been imposed here today ahead of the three-day Autumn Assembly Session from tomorrow.

Official sources said the East Khasi Hills administration promulgated the order under Section 144 of the CrPC with a view to ensuring peace and tranquility during the session.

The order banned carrying of arms, lethal weapons, explosives and inflammable substances in order to ensure smooth functioning of trade activities and movement of vehicular traffic.
