Non-gazetted railway employees to get 70 days wages as PLB

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) The government today brightened the festive mood of non-gazetted railway employees by approving payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 70 days wages for the financial year 2006-07.

The decision in this regard was taken at a Cabinet meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Briefing reporters about the Cabinet decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi, however, said the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) personnel would not be eligible for the PLB.

Mr Dasmunsi said the PLB was approved on the basis of the formula approved by the Cabinet in its meeting held on September 23, 2000.

This is the highest ever PLB announced for eligible railway employees so far.
