Lapang assures to provide better health facilities

Shillong, Oct 11 (UNI) Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang today assured that providing better health facilities to the people of the state was the top priority of his government.

Speaking at the release of 18 new ambulances under the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM), Mr Lapang said NHRM had a target of providing effective healthcare to the rural population of the entire country.

Mr Lapang also announced that the government would allocate 21 mobile medical units to the state Health department to provide immediate medical treatment to the people.

He urged the medical officials of the state to ensure better health facilities across the state, adding that providing health facilities and better infrastructure in the public and community health centres would mitigate the problems faced by the patients and improve the health status of the people, especially in the rural areas.
