Junior Army officer among two soldiers killed in militant ambush

Baramulla, Oct 11 (UNI) A Junior Army officer and a soldier were killed in a militant ambush in north Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said militants ambushed an Army convoy of 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at Gund Karim Khan in Rafiabad of this district.

Two soldiers, including a Junior Commissioner Officer (JCO), were killed. the troops retaliated but the militants managed to escape, they said adding a massive hunt has been launched in the area to nab them.

More than two dozen militants and about half a dozen security force personnel, including two Majors, were killed in north Kashmir during the past two weeks.
