Infosys beats Dollar 'crisis' with its 'unique business model'

Bangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) IT giant Infosys has overcome the currency crisis faced by exporters due to the hardening Rupee against the US Dollar by adopting an unique business model and value proposition to help its clients grow their profitability.

Speaking to news persons here company CEO Gopalakrishnan said the company would be losing a revenue of more than Rs 2000 crore and a net profit of Rs 250 crore this year as the dollar had fell from Rs 44.98 to Rs 39.92 during the last one year. However, the company's unique business model had helped it to maintain the operating margin.

The IT bellwether exceeded the guidance by crossing the billion US dollar mark during the second quarter ending September 30 earning a revenue of Rs 4105 crore and a net profit of Rs 1100 crore.

For the third quarter ending December 31, 2007, the company has set a guidance in the range of RS 4238 and s 4258 crore with an year on year growth of 16 per cent to 16.5 per cent.
