Dr Prakash of NDRI selected for M S Swaminathan Award
Karnal, Oct 11 (UNI) Dr B S Prakash, head of Dairy Cattle Physiology at National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) Karnal has been selected for the prestigious M S Swaminathan Award 2006-07 for his outstanding research in the field of bovine reproduction especially buffaloes which would lead to enhanced milk production.
The selection Committee headed by Dr M V Rao, former special Director General of ICAR and former Vice-chancellor of Acharya N G Ranga University, selected Dr Prakash from among 34-eminent agricultural scientsts.
The award which carries a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, a gold medal and citation will be presented in a function in Hyderabad on November 3.
The biennial award, second in the series, is initiated by Retired ICAR Employees Association (RICAREA) in collaboration with NUZIVEEDU Seeds Ltd, and given for life-time achievement in Indian agricultural research including crop, animal and fisheries.
