Assy polls in Meghalaya to be held timely: Lapang
Shillong, Oct 11: Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang today made it clear that the Assembly elections in the state would be held as per scheduled.
Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura are scheduled to go for Assembly elections early next year.
''The elections would be held in February and presently there are no circumstances to compel us to go for early elections,'' Mr Lapang told the sources here.
The Chief Minister, who returned here from New Delhi recently, also informed that the Congress would release the list of candidates after the Autumn Assembly session.
