Two beggars crushed, three injured by speeding bus

Amritsar, Oct 10 (UNI) Two beggars were crushed to death and three were seriously injured by a speeding private bus near Bhandari Bridge in Amritsar City this morning.

The police sources, quoting eyewitnesses, said that the private bus, driven rashly, suddenly veered towards the footpath and ran over a group of beggars sleeping there.

The driver of the bus sped away after the accident.

Those killed have been identified as Vijay Kumar and Anna. The injured identified as Sunny, Marathi and Allahbadi, were rushed to hospital by the passersby, police said.

Though the details about the victims was not known, they seemed migrants, police said.

A case has been registered and investigations were on, police said.
