Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Meiko Maschinenbau GmbH, the 164 million Euro global leader in commercial dish-washing machines and systems, has set up a technical and marketing support centre in the city.

The 80 year-old German firm, specialising in cleaning technology for industrial canteens, star hotels, airline caterers and corporate hospitals, was looking at India in the long haul as the manufacturing and services sectors had been expanding in the country, according to a release today.

The new support centre would provide training and servicing for majority of its 300-odd customers in various locations.

''The game plan is to speed up installation of the machines, shipped from Offenburg in Germany, and to reach out to customers faster for support services,'' Meiko India MD and CEO Virendra Dutt said in the release.

Among global IT majors, Infosys Technologies, Wipro, TCS, Satyam, IBM, Microsoft, GE, Intel and Accenture had installed Meiko machines in their kitchens.
