JD(S) leader denies party MLA's defection
Mandya, Oct 10 (UNI) Senior Janata Dal(S) leader and former Karnataka Transport Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy today strongly denied defection from the party to Congress.
Speaking to newsmen here, he said that JD(S) was in favour of facing mid-term elections to the State Assembly rather than joining hands with Congress to form alternate government in the State.
Alleging the Congress of indulging in luring some of the party legislators, he said that they (Congress) would not succede in its attempt.
Terming the reports about JD(S) legislators joining Congress as rumour, Mr Cheluvarayaswamy said that "I would rather chose to retire from the politics if the Congress party succedes in its attempt".
