Do not acquire fertile lands for projects: NCP

Puducherry, Oct 10 (UNI) Asserting fertile lands should not be acquired for any developmental projects and sale of such land should be made only to agriculturists, the Nationalist Congres Party (NCP) today urged the administration to issue a government order (GO) in this regard.

Addressing the press here, NCP National Secretary G P Sarathi said the party would move the court if norms were violated.The matter would be also be taken up at the National Executive of the party at Shillong tomorrow.

Mr Sarathi also advocated the government take over of private medical and engineering colleges which were not complying with government guidelines in respect of fee structure.

He also alleged deterioration of law and order situation in the union territory with rising incidents of murders and robbery and asked the police to initiate action to bring the situation under control.
