Prayers for earthquake victims

Srinagar, Oct. 8 2007: A separatist group in Jammu&Kashmir held a special prayer service today for those killed in an earthquake that hit parts of Kashmir in October 2005, killing thousands of residents.

The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, led by Zaffar Akbar Bhatt, held the prayer service. A major earthquake that hit the mountainous region near the India-Pakistan frontier in October 2005 had completely razed to ground the Uri region of Kashmir.
